Pastor Steve Papillon has accepted a call to join Fox River Lutheran Church as its first Associate Pastor!
Steve and his family arrived the 1st of December 2008. Pastor Steve is a lay pastor who has been serving two AFLC congregations in rural Minnesota since 1997. Prior to this, he served as the Director of Evangelism and Discipleship at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN for approximately 8 years, but left in 1988 when the church affiliated with the ELCA (which does not teach the Bible as inerrant and infallible). He then served at Emmaus Lutheran Church as Director of Family Ministries until 1997 when he took a call to become Pastor at Zion Free Lutheran in Wadena MN.
Steve accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior on March 25. 1974, and married his wife Linda on August 6, 1977.
Linda has a degree in music from Augsburg and also is certified to teach special education; however, she describes herself as a "domestic engineer" and says her major role has been running their home. She likes to cook and sew and, for more than 20 years, she has been home schooling their children. Steve also has some musical background, having spent some time applying music theory and composition at the University of Minnesota following high school.
Steve and Linda have 9 children, four of whom are still living at home live in Sheridan. Their oldest son. Andrew, an R.N., and his wife Amy live in Racine, WI. Their daughter Nicole is married to Christian Talley and attends Helmar Lutheran Church. They have 2 children Ava and Elias . Daughter Naomi is a dental assistant who lives in Fargo ND, with her husband Paul Hensrud. David is attending Moody Bible School in Chicago. They also have a daughter Rachel who attends Wheaton College. The 4 still at home are Daniel, Tim, and Chris and their daughter Bethany. |
